Urban Planet Mobile Launches Urban English – The first, biggest, and best English language learning program delivered to the world on the mobile phone

SAVANNAH, GA. October 1, 2008-Following the success of the launch of Urban English at the Cellular Telephone Industry Association (CTIA) Conference in San Francisco last month, Savannah-based Urban Planet Mobile is hosting a local Savannah celebration. The invitation only event will be held on Wednesday, October 15^th at Cha Bella and will feature a screening of the locally filmed Urban Planet Mobile video. 

Urban English is 450 English language-learning audio programs available in 10 languages. With expansion plans already in place to include additional languages, introduction of interactivity, video, and games all developed for mobile phone delivery, the company is poised for explosive growth. According to CEO Brian OliverSmith, "the potential for this product is unbelievable and the response in just these few weeks since our official launch has far surpassed our expectations. Having just gone to market, we are already in discussions with some of the largest telecoms in the world to deliver Urban English to their subscribers." 

Urban Planet Mobile expects to launch product in Portugal to 6.6 million mobile phone subscribers for January 2009. Discussions are underway with one of Japan's largest mobile companies to work in partnership to bring Urban Planet Mobile's lines to the 53 million subscribers in Japan, as well as through their international delivery portal, across Asia and Europe. Additional deals in development include taking the products into India, as well as distributing the product to the 43 million English language learners in the United States.
